A simple way to solve Canon C500 and Avid Media Composer 6/7 incompatible issues

Summary: Along with Brorsoft’s MXF Converter for Mac, you can easily convert and import Canon C500 MXF footage into Avid Media Composer 6.0/7.0 for further editing on Mac (OS X 10.9 Mavericks included).

I’ve been researching possible workflows for Canon C500 and Avid Media Composer, as I will work with the Canon C500 footage. As you know, Canon C500 is an awesome camcorder. With it you can shot videos with Canon's XF Codec -a file-based MPEG-2 compression with an MXF File Wrapper. However, I found many users complained the problems when trying to edit Canon C500 footage in Avid MC.

In fact, MXF is not a good editing format for NLE system including Avid Media Composer, iMovie, Final Cut Express, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc. Although, there are AMA plug-ins launched like Canon XF plug-in to solve the importing problems, when you transferring MXF files from C500 to Avid MC, there are still some incompatible problems come up. Well, if you make the recordings editable before taking to the Avid Media Composer program, the incompatible error won’t happen any more. Here you can download and apply Brorsoft MXF Converter for Mac to achieve the goal in a fast way.

This MXF file converter for Mac is the solid tool to help users make the Canon C500, C300, Canon XF100, XF305 and even Panasonic P2 MXF files transcoded, edited on Mac OS X. It offers the optimal preset profiles for, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, FCE, Final Cut Pro 6/7 and FCP X and more. And there is no need to worry about the quality loss. For Windows user, MXF Converter is the choice.
